Coming Up: Abraham Atte’s Talk on Effective Teamwork

Hi VFS members!

Join us this Thursday, February 23rd for a talk “Teaming Up: Effective Group and Meeting Management” (and for pizza!) by Abraham Atte, a trained CyberAmbassador facilitator.

The event will take place in ESM 201 at 11am.

Abraham is a current AE PhD student at Georgia Tech, and a GT International Ambassador. He obtained his B.S from the University of Kansas and an M.S. from Georgia Tech, both in AE. His research focuses on multirotor aerodynamic interactions. Abraham was a member of the Georgia Tech team that won 3rd place at the VFS Student Design Competition in 2022.

Sign up for the Field trip to HAI Heli-Expo

The HAI Heli-Expo is coming to Atlanta this year! 

To celebrate, VFS GT is offering free one-day registrations to 30 VFS members for March 7th, 2023.

The registration includes access to an all-day career fair, the exhibition hall, the Rotor Safety Challenge events, and all HAI working group meetings, forums, and workshops (more information: https://heliexpo.com). The only requirements are to be a current student (GT or other) and to be a member of our parent organization, VFS (registered with the Atlanta chapter).

Tentatively, we plan on meeting up at 7am at the Weber building (bagels will be provided!) and walk as a group to the Georgia World Congress Center. Those who prefer to meet at the convention center directly can meet the group at the GWCC later.

2023 VFF Application Review

Join us Wednesday, January 25th from 11am to 1pm in MK 325 to review your VFF application materials!

Past VFF scholarship winners and VFS officers will be present to look at your personal statement and resume to help you become the next VFF scholarship recipient.

2020 VFS DRONE COMPETITION

Given the recent campus restrictions due to COVID-19, the VFS drone competition is postponed until the Fall semester.  Registered teams will be contacted in August to inquire about their interest in participating.  Please feel free to email [gt.ahs.calendar@gmail.com] with any questions, and thank you for your interest!
 

2019-2020 GT-VFS Elections on April 16th

The Vertical Flight Society (VFS -AHS) at Georgia Tech/ Atlanta Chapter is hosting a General Meeting on April 16, 2019 at 11 AM in Guggenheim. 442 to elect new officers for the 2019-2020 school year! 

This announcement also opens the nomination period for candidates.  We are looking to fill the following positions:

  1. President (nominee must have held an officer position before)
  2. Vice President
  3. Secretary
  4. Membership Chair
  5. Undergraduate Liaison/ Outreach Chair.
